ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has officially chosen Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan, as its candidate for the Senate.
The announcement was made by Punjab’s Senior Minister and party Information Secretary, Marriyum Aurangzeb, through a statement shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). She confirmed that PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has approved the Senate ticket for Sanaullah on a general seat from the Punjab Assembly.
The by-election for the seat, which became vacant following the disqualification of PTI’s Ejaz Chaudhry, is scheduled to take place on September 9. Rana Sanaullah, a long-time loyalist of Nawaz Sharif, is widely viewed as one of the party’s trusted and influential figures.
